Hello! I’m George,
A little about me. I’ve had dogs all my life—literally since I can remember, I’ve been a true dog lover. After running several of my own businesses and working in the corporate world, one thing has always remained constant: my love for animals, especially dogs. Having recently stepped away from the corporate scene, I’m excited to begin the next chapter of my life—together with my loyal labradoodle and business partner, Oliver—combining two of our favorite things: the great outdoors and the companionship of dogs.
The safety and well-being of every dog are my highest priorities. Each dog participates in a meet-and-greet to ensure they’re a good fit for group hikes, and all dogs are equipped with GPS collars—perfect for those with an extra dose of curiosity.
I’m also certified in Advanced Pet First Aid, with training in essential emergency skills such as CPR, treating shock, controlling bleeding, bandaging wounds, managing poisoning, and stabilizing fractures. This knowledge allows me to respond promptly to emergencies, prevent illness, and ensure the health and safety of the pets in my care.
I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend, and to sharing the joy and adventure that pack hiking brings to both dogs and their humans.
GETTING STARTED
Meet & Greet:
Feel free to call, email or text me to arrange a friendly meet & greet. We’ll gladly send over the necessary paperwork for you to fill out, and we'll also confirm that your dog is properly vaccinated so we can get started together. Your doggie will only play with our dogs, that have been screened (as yours will be).
We’ll come to your home to meet everyone, most importantly, the dog! We will evaluate your dog on social skills, responsiveness & temperament and answer any further questions you may have.
EXCURSIONS
Your dog will happily be away from home for roughly 2 to 2.5 hours, during which they'll enjoy over an hour of lively off-leash running, playful chasing, splashing happily in the water, and fun wrestling with friendly pups. It's a delightful adventure that keeps your furry friend active, social, and completely entertained!
Drinking Water & Treats:
We offer fresh, cold water and plenty of treats on every excursion.
Wet or Muddy Pups:
Fur babies who are allowed to go swimming or play in the mud are showered onsite guaranteeing that they will be clean by the time the return home.
Weather:
We go in ALL types of weather… however, if the road conditions are not good during a snowstorm or freezing rain, we will cancel. The safety of our staff and the doggies is always our primary concern.we would only cancel excursions if the safety of the dogs is in question.
We do recommend sweaters and coats for winter and rain coats for rainy days. (Please note that items of clothing will get dirty and could in a rare occasion, become damaged).
Pick-up Service:
We’ll take care of the pick-up, drop-off. No need for fur parents to be home. We’ll need an understanding of the “house rules” for a seamless pick-up and drop-off.
Service Areas:
Massachusetts: Southcoast area including New Bedford, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Mattapoisett, Marion, Westport, Wareham, Acushnet, Freetown, Rochester, Somerset, and Swansea.
Vermont: Killington area including Stockbridge, Bethel, Bridgewater, Hancock, Pittsfield, Rochester, Sherburne.
HEALTH & SAFETY
GPS Collars:
For the safety of the fur babies, all dogs are equipped with GPS collars to keep track of any curious wanderings.
We also keep our excursions to a small group of dogs, in order for each dog to get the attention they need. However, if your doggie is an escape artist, Petagonia is probably not a good fit.
Temperament:
We are often asked, “Do the dogs get along?” “Are there ever any fights?” Yes, but for the most part, the dogs do get along, but even the best of friends can get on one another’s nerves. That said, we do not allow any dogs with aggressive tendencies. The dogs have to be able to travel together and enjoy each other’s company. If we do experience aggressive behavior with a particular dog, they will not be able to continue with our excursions.
Vaccines: It is necessary that all dogs are up to date on vaccines including Bordatella (Kennel Cough), Leptospirosis, and CIV (Flu). We want to keep all the doggies running full steam ahead! By requiring these additional vaccinations, we reduce the chance of spreading viruses among our pack. In addition to the required vaccinations we ask that all doggies have seen their Veterinarian within the past year. Proof of vaccination required before booking.
Ticks:
We want your dogs to get as much exercise as their little hearts can stand and stay safe while they run their tails off. Ticks thrive in the woods, brush, and shade. As always, please treat your dogs with a tick and flea treatment all months of the year, not just the warmer ones.
